- Place the bottom edge of the fastener at the base of the brick as shown in the top illustration to the left.
- Depress the spring by pushing it upwards until the teeth of the fastener go over the top of the brick. (You can depress the spring by using your thumb or for leverage use a screwdriver, knife or similar tool as shown in the bottom illustration.
- Once the teeth are over the top of the brick, push the fastener flush against the brick and the installation is completed in seconds.
Removal of the fastener is accomplished by simply depressing the spring until the teeth lift off the top of the brick.
IMPORTANT- In order for Brick Clip® Fasteners to grip around the brick and have a secure fit, you need to make sure that your mortar is set back at least 1/8". This is referred to as having a recessed, square or raked mortar joint. The fastener will not grip around the brick if the mortar comes right to the edge of the brick.
Brick is usually measured from the bottom to the top of the brick. This is referred to as the "height" of the brick. Brick Clip® Fasteners come in three different sizes to fit most brick manufactured in the United States and Canada.
Measuring the brick size:
For brick 2 1/8" to 2 1/2" in height, order the "Standard Size".For brick 2 1/2" to 2 3/4" in height, order the "Queen Size".
For brick 3" to 3 1/4" in height, order the "Max Size".
The spring will adjust for variances in this range.
